Bergen Group Hanøytangen Gets LoI for Rig Modification

Bergen Group Hanøytangen has been awarded a Letter of Intent (LOI) from Marine Accurate Well ASA (Maracc) for yard stay and rig modification at Hanøytangen for the semi-submersible drilling and well intervention unit Island Innovator.

The LOI comprises various yard services and commissioning work to be carried out during the stay.

Island Innovator is a newbuild fully equipped semi-submersible unit built by COSCO in China based on a GM4000 design. The rig will arrive Hanøytangen mid Q1 2013. The yard stay is estimated to be completed during Q2 2013.

The unit will then go into operations at the Norwegian Continental Shelf for the oil company Lundin. Bergen Group Hanøytangen has developed a functional and efficient offshore yard and service area on Askøy north of Bergen.

The company has over the last years carried out several extensive operations on different drilling rigs. Bergen Group Hanøytangen is part of Bergen Group’s offshore division together with Bergen Group Rosenberg in Stavanger and Bergen Group Offshore Kimek in Kirkenes.

Maracc, the owner of Island Innovator, is headquartered in Stavanger and OTC listed in Oslo under ticker MARA.
