DJURS Wind Power Members Get Contracts for Orders in Connection with Anholt Wind Farm

At present, 15 of the 26 member companies, which have joined the industrial network DJURS Wind Power, have been awarded orders in connection with Anholt Offshore Wind Farm.

The order value has already exceeded DKK 100 million, and this means that a large part of the investment in Anholt Offshore Wind Farm benefits the local community in terms of contracts and work.

 DJURS Wind Power

DJURS Wind Power was established based on a local initiative shortly after the Folketing decided to construct the wind farm, and as overall player DONG Energy has contributed to supporting the network between DJURS Wind Power and the suppliers during the entire process.

Today, DJURS Wind Power offers support to all players through one common point of contact to all the member companies in the network.

From the beginning, we’ve deliberately worked on being at the cutting edge of the need and have worked on improving the competence in our member companies”, says Morten Basse Jensen, who – as the only paid member of the network – is establishing the contacts between the local companies and the main suppliers of the project, such as Siemens and MT Højgaard.

So far, the network has held eight half-day workshops in order to address the players and it has been an incredible success. The companies joining DJURS Wind Power are mainly small- and medium-sized companies, and at the seminars, the large players, such as DONG Energy, Siemens and MT Højgaard, have participated to tell about their share of the project and their needs. “It’s already paid off,” says Morten Basse Jensen and continues, “but we expect that we’ll still be able to secure our member companies a range of assignments once the installation begins.”

Who relates a carpenter’s company with offshore wind farms?

One of the companies, which has benefited from actual orders through the network, is Aalsrode Tømrerfirma A/S. “Probably not that many may associate a carpenter company with offshore wind farms, but we’ve been so lucky to get the assignment of renovating the operation and maintenance compounds at the harbour in Grenaa,” says Bo Allermann, Manager of Aalsrode Tømrerfirma.

“The order amounts to tens of millions and is absolutely a good task for os, but we would not have dared tendering for the task without the knowledge that we’ve gained through the network. This has been very positive for the local community, and we’ve gained more from the network than I dared hope,” says Bo Allermann, Aalsrode Tømrerfirma.
