BigLift Shipping is looking for you! We need you to prepare marine heavy lift operations and execute them worldwide. Does the following suit you?

  • Manage projects from A-Z;
  • Out-of-the-box transport solutions;
  • Use your brains and boots;
  • Good safety attitude.

BigLift is the world leader in heavy cargo transport. With a fleet of state-of-the-art ships, complex projects with multiple voyages, multiple stake holders and challenging out of the box transport solutions are day-to-day business. BigLift offers you a unique combination of operational and technical challenges, complex project management and boots on deck project execution.

Projects vary from installation of large harbour cranes, sometimes over 50m tall which have to be placed meticulously accurate on rails, to multiple shipments across rough oceans of refinery modules as tall as apartment buildings, to building wharf decks as wide as 8 lane highways and moving delicate luxurious yachts.

The ships are often utilized to their limits. Think of crane capacities, remote areas, space utilization, cargo requirements, and structural integrity of the ship, the cargo and the seafastening. Every transport requires detailed preparations, calculations and analysis and project preparation.

As a project manager you will be responsible for the management of a variety of these kinds of projects. You are the first point of contact for the customer, will manage a project team of engineers and operational experts, be responsible to perform the project within the contractual terms and work closely with the commercial manager. Together with the project team you will prepare the full project plan, communicate with the client, obtain approval from surveyors and make sure that all project documentation, communication and logistics are arranged on time and within budget. You will also be involved in developing new project management tools and methods, specifically related to large and complex projects.

If you are an experienced project manager within the maritime or offshore industry and not afraid to take responsibility for the safe execution of large, challenging projects, then BigLift has the right job for you.

You will qualify for the job with a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree and with a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. Affinity with the maritime industry is a precondition.

Do you have the required knowledge and experience and would you like to be considered for this position? Send your resume and motivation letter to Michiel van Mondfrans via [email protected].
