Rating Deck

The Job
As Rating Deck you assist on deck with the Sail Training Program, maintenance and the rigging. Works together with Bosun and other deckhands and instructs trainee

About Swan Expeditions
The sailing schedule of our fleet consists of trips all over the world. With our educational Masterskip program for secondary school students, we sail halfway around the world from November to June.

The other part of the year we conduct expeditions around Iceland, Greenland and Spitsbergen, participate in Tall Ships Races, organize high level corporate events, partner with organizations for leadership and sail with individuals in several countries in Northwestern Europe.

We stimulate growth within our organization and work with various agreements for our crew on board. Together with the shipping company, we determine the course of Swan Expeditions BV.

We ask

Familiar and experienced as a deckhand on Tall Ship’s
Experienced in supporting in all sailing operations, sail configuration and tactics
Supports in the sail training program on deck for trainees
Part of navigational watch
Able to support in training of crew and trainees
Able to contribute in the educational Masterskip program
Arrange the best hospitality environment for our guests and trainees
Positive attitude and teamplayer
Experience with maintenance of deck and rigging
You are in possession of STCW - II/4 Rating Deck, forming part of a navigational watch sailing ships less than 500 GT in trading area unlimited
Valid Basic Safety Certificate
Medical Certificate

What Swan Expeditions BV has to offer you

A contract for at least 1 year
2:1 work-leave ratio mostly 3 month on – 1,5 month of (246 working days)
minimum wage
Flights and usual expenses are compensated
