Hallin Marine Charters OSV Stril Explorer

Hallin Marine, a Superior Energy Services company, announces a further significant step in the expansion of its subsea services capability in the North Sea and Mediterranean regions. Hallin has chartered the offshore support vessel Stril Explorer for an initial twelve months, with options to renew.

Stril Explorer has mobilised immediately for its first assignment; a survey campaign in the North Sea. A pipeline of further light construction, and inspection, maintenance and repair (IMR) work is now under negotiation.

Hallin is keen to build on the successful experience of providing ROVs onboard the Stril Explorer for other clients over the past twelve months, and a successful IMR campaign for a major North Sea operator in early 2012 that Hallin undertook using the vessel on a short-term charter.

This latest investment represents a significant milestone for Hallin as a provider of Integrated subsea services within the North Sea and Mediterranean regions” comments Giovanni Corbetta, Managing Director of Hallin West Division. It follows the successful chartering of the Lewek Toucan multi-purpose offshore support vessel for a long-term project in West African waters. The combination of Hallin’s highly experienced staff and these key additions to our operating fleet enable us to expand operations with maximum operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Designed and built in Norway, Stril Explorer was launched in September 2010. It is a 76.4 metre multi-purpose support vessel with accommodation for 70 people, a 60 tonne AHC crane, 10 tonne dive crane and large hangars for two WROV systems. Other facilities include a sheltered deck which can be used as a fabrication or storage area, large control rooms, conference rooms and office facilities.
