Humber to Launch New Renewable Brand

The marketing of the Humber to potential investors in offshore wind will step up a gear next week with the launch of the new Humber Renewables brand and a major exhibition presence

The Humber Local Enterprise Partnership, which is leading the work, will launch the brand and a new brochure promoting the Humber at an exclusive dinner in London on Tuesday (12 June). Sponsored by international law firm Nabarro, it will bring together senior wind industry figures, financiers and local businesses involved in the sector.

The dinner coincides with the start of Global Offshore Wind 2012, one of the main conferences and exhibitions in the offshore wind sector’s calendar. Organised by trade body Renewable UK, 300 organisations will be exhibiting and 5,000 visitors are expected at ExCeL in London over the three days.

This year, for the first time, the Humber will have a major joint presence under the Humber Renewables brand. The 56m2 Humber pavilion will host representatives from the LEP, the four Humber local authorities and Scarborough Borough Council, who will be there to market the area to potential investors. There will also be 15 individual local companies with their own display panels around the edge of the pavilion, co-ordinated by Team Humber Marine Alliance and the Grimsby Renewables Partnership.

The exhibition presence will highlight the Humber’s designation by Government as a Centre for Offshore Renewable Engineering and the LEP’s two Enterprise Zones which offer fast-track planning and financial incentives to investors.

Humber LEP Manager Richard Kendall said:

The united Humber presence will be bigger, bolder and more confident than ever before.

The pavilion has been designed to be impressive and hard to miss, but most importantly it will help us to get across the message that in terms of location, land and financial incentives the Humber is second to none. The Humber has a very strong offer for offshore wind, and this is one of the ways we will be publicising it.”

The Humber Renewables brand identity was designed by Hull-based Fred, while the brochure and exhibition stand were designed by Cleethorpes-based Chocolate Creative. The exhibition presence is being funded jointly by the LEP, the local authorities and the companies involved.
