PD&MS Energy Gets Egineering Services Contract with BP

PD&MS Energy, an oil and gas engineering consultancy, has been awarded a major engineering services contract for platform drilling rigs with BP. The exclusive three-year contract will see the Aberdeen-based business deliver engineering, procurement and offshore construction services for upgrades on all BP platform drilling assets in the North Sea.

The contract workscope includes life of field (LOF) and blowout preventer (BOP) / well control upgrades, five-yearly re-certifications as well as general drilling rig repair works. The contract carries options to extend for an additional two years.

Simon Rio, managing director of PD&MS Energy, said: “We are clearly delighted to be awarded this formal contract with BP. This signifies a milestone in the development of the company, and puts us at the top end of our niche market. With similar prestigious long-term contracts already in place with other leading industry giants, we are extremely proud of what we have achieved here at PD&MS.

The business has grown dramatically in the past 11 years but our core values of understanding projects and reacting quickly to client requirements through a strong work ethic has stood us in good stead, and will continue to be our ethos as we continue to grow PD&MS.

Our focus is set on ensuring we continually deliver on all fronts for all our valued clients. We firmly believe that the competency and quality of our personnel is paramount and we shall continue to build on the success to date by attracting further high calibre personnel across all engineering disciplines.

PD&MS Energy, which now has 200 personnel on board, recently secured additional office space in its Atholl House and Exchange Street premises to facilitate the continued growth of the business and meet unprecedented demand for its services.
