Reef Subsea Awarded Decommissioning Contract in Central North Sea

Reef Subsea Integrated Projects has successfully secured a decommissioning workscope on the Angus Pipeline PL1857 Flushing projects for HESS Limited.

Reef Subsea Integrated Projects (RSIP) will deploy the Polar King construction support vessel to provide operations in field, which marks the first decommissioning project of this kind that Reef Subsea has worked on. The workscope will take place in the Fife, Fergus, Flora and Angus fields, commonly known as FFFA, which are located in the central North Sea in water depths of 70 metres.

As part of the phased decommissioning programme, RSIP will perform the removal of the PL1857 pipeline contents with Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) assistance. It will deliver a filtration package, suction pump and associated down lines to evacuate pipeline contents to the vessel. RSIP will engineer and project manage the complete workscope using its in-house multi-skilled team.

Duncan MacPherson, CEO of Reef Subsea, said: “We are delighted to have secured this decommissioning project with HESS Limited in the central North Sea. This demonstrates our ability to provide engineered solutions to operator companies like HESS.

“Our vessel and equipment capabilities are ideal to carry out the scope of work required by the client and our skilled team is highly experienced in this type of operation. We look forward to working with HESS towards a successful completion.”
