Reef Subsea CEO Resigns

Reef Subsea Group, a subsea service provider, has announced changes to its management and board with immediate effect.

Mark Preece is to step down as CEO of the Reef Subsea Group by mutual agreement.

The board has acknowledged and thanked Mr Preece for his efforts in developing and positioning Reef Subsea as a strong subsea contractor in the oil & gas and offshore wind farm sectors. Preece will be leaving the Company immediately to pursue other interests. The board wishes him every success in his new pursuits,” said the company in a press release.

Duncan MacPherson, the current managing director of Reef Subsea Norway, will assume the interim role of CEO for the Reef Subsea Group. Prior to joining Reef Subsea, MacPherson was an executive VP of DOF Subsea and general manager in DOF Subsea Norway.

The board looks forward to working with Mr MacPherson and supporting him and his management team in building on the existing strong foundation and achieving the growth potential of the company,Reef Subsea added.

Meanwhile, Mel Fitzgerald has been appointed board chairman.Fitzgerald has been involved in the oil industry since he joined Brown & Root in 1974 as a Project Engineer and has worked in a number of positions and locations. He served as CEO of Subsea 7 from 2004 to 2010, before joining the Board of Directors of Subsea 7 S.A. following the merger between Subsea7 and Acergy. Fitzgerald left Subsea 7 in 2012.
