Statoil to Use Facilities on Hyme Field

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) has granted Statoil consent to use the facilities on the Hyme field in the Norwegian Sea.

Hyme is an oil and gas field located in the Norwegian Sea, approx. 19 km northeast of Njord and 10 km west of Draugen. The field is developed with a subsea template, which is tied in to the Njord A facility.

Statoil is the operator of the field, with an ownership interest of 35 per cent. The other licensees are GDF SUEZ E&P Norge AS, Core Energy AS, E.ON Ruhrgas Norge AS, Faroe Petroleum Norge AS, and VNG Norge AS.

The Hyme field is located 82 km from shore. The water depth in the area is approx. 250 metres. The plan is to start production from the field in the first quarter of 2013.

The PSA has now granted Statoil consent to use the facility with associated pipelines and equipment.
