TAG Energy to Present at EWEA Offshore 2011

TAG Energy to Exhibit at EWEA Offshore 2011

TAG Energy Solutions, the North East England-based project management and construction company, will be exhibiting at EWEA Offshore 2011 for the first time following the completion of its £20million tubular foundation manufacturing facility for the offshore renewables sector (Stand 9328).

CEO Alex Dawson will also be addressing the industry’s supply chain at a side event on 30 November organised by The Crown Estate and UKTI.

Mr Dawson will be highlighting the extensive offshore renewable energy sector expertise from North East England, which includes TAG Energy Solutions’ highly respected new production facility.

The 6,920 metre square facility features an innovative manufacturing system that rolls and welds large diameter tubulars used in the construction of offshore wind turbine jacket and monopile foundations. The fully-automated system can create steel cans with diameters up to 7,300mm in diameter.

Fully-operational and recently opened by the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change, Chris Huhne MP, the facility also includes a new 1,700 square metre environmentally-friendly blast and paint unit.

TAG Energy Solutions’ riverside facility also manufactures jackets, transition pieces and topside structures, which can be transported around the world from its extensive wet dock and 6,000te load out quay.

John MacAskill, TAG Energy Solutions’ Business Development Director, said: “We are confident that our state-of-the-art facility and manufacturing operation will become a significant part of the supply chain infrastructure for the European Offshore market. EWEA Offshore 2011 is the perfect showcase to build upon our already growing reputation on the continent.

He added: “The European market holds considerable opportunities for innovative UK suppliers like TAG Energy Solutions. Alongside the quality of our facility and product, and our excellent geographic location on the east coast of England, we can demonstrate considerable capabilities and expertise that will be attractive to companies across Europe.”
