About Us
At Damen Workboats, we are a leading division within the Damen Group, consisting of several entities including an operating company and four shipyards. We specialize in the design, construction, and maintenance of workboats, offering a wide range of vessels for various maritime applications. The role
Our technical documentation department puts together technical documentation packages for Damen ships for the owners. These packages include manuals, certificates, drawings, and data sheets, all tailored to the customer's needs, contracts, specifications, and legal requirements. As planner you are responsible for the total planning and monitoring of all our projects. You plan activities based on information and stakeholder management with Project Management / internal and externa clients. Based on your information and reports, the technical documentalists, manager of the team and project management can adjust their course in a timely manner.
You are continuously switching between different stakeholders and are driven to think outside of the box.
Key accountabilities
As planner of the technical documentation department, your main responsibilities are:
- Creating a baseline planning for all project activities based on the masterplanning and hour budget in association with project management and technical documentalists.
- Develop integrated project plans and logistic schedules (work breakdown structures)
- Maintaining and analysing the operational planning
- Analyze and identify bottlenecks in the (overall) planning and develop and propose improvements/solutions
- Providing progress status overviews and preparing hour forecast information
- Preparing project information for multi-projects planning (portfolio)
- Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, work flow, and design layout of equipment / work space for maximum efficiency
- Provide timely and accurate planning related responses to internal customers.
Skills & experience
As Planner, you have the following skills:
- You have experience with planning tools;
- You are eager to learn;
- You like to think outside the box and come up with the best solution
- You can easily communicate with different stakeholders and ask questions to understand what is expected from you and others
- You have an administrative background and likes to have things in order
- The drive to develop your knowledge of ship components and shipbuilding techniques;
- A good understanding of the English language, both written and spoken;
- Accurate, effective communication skills, both internal and external.
- In addition, you are critical and you work extremely accurately and fit perfectly in an organization where your focus is on the customers and their requirements. You are able to work independently and will proactively look for the necessary information.
