Crewing Officer Vroon Offshore Services B.V. (1 FTE)

Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) B.V. operates from the port of Den Helder (NL), with a fleet of 17 modern platform-supply, subsea-support and walk-to-work vessels. VOS B.V. forms part of our Offshore Services Division, with further offices in Aberdeen (UK), Genoa (IT) and Singapore. The Den-Helder-managed vessels are active mainly in the North Sea area, with the area of operation occasionally extending to include the Mediterranean or West Africa. Our most important objective is making our customers successful by providing safe and highly efficient shipping services and offshore-support solutions.


What will you do?
In this function, and for the vessels falling under his/her supervision, the Crewing Officer is responsible for:

  • Planning of crews on board, in line with defined crewing and vessel policies;
  • Overseeing the complete crewing process and handling crew issues on board;
  • Making travel arrangements for Den-Helder-based crew members, mainly with regard to crew changes;
  • Coordinating the recruitment process for new crew members;
  • Working closely with manning agencies to ensure accurate and timely information regarding planning and related issues is provided to the Operations Department, applicable business partners and crew members;
  • Coordinating training programmes for Den Helder-based crew members;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant crewing-related certificates/regulations;
  • Generating timely reporting, breakdowns and analyses of crew-related costs.

Working in a team of three Crewing Officers, you report to the Crewing Manager.

Who are we looking for?
An excellent communicator and administrator, with a flair for accuracy, you form a vital part of an operational team working in a fast-paced, ever-changing, multi-cultural and international environment. Our preferred candidate has:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as human resources or logistics;
  • A minimum of two years’ work experience in personnel resource planning, preferably in a maritime crewing environment;
  • A dynamic, hands-on approach;
  • Good knowledge of resource-planning systems and Microsoft Office, and a quick learner of new systems;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English;
  • Knowledge of additional languages would be an advantage (Dutch/French/German);
  • Willingness to work outside regular office hours, when required.
