COSL Innovator Receives PSA's AoC

The semi-submersible drilling facility COSLInnovator has received the PSA’s Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC). On 30 March 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) granted COSL Drilling Europe AS an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) for the semi-submersible drilling facility COSLInnovator.

COSLInnovator was constructed at the Yantai Raffles Shipyard in China. The drilling package was delivered by National Oilwell Varco and built at Nymo in Grimstad.

The AoC is a statement from the PSA expressing the authorities’ confidence that petroleum activities can be conducted with the facility, within the regulatory framework.

It is the PSA’s assessment that petroleum activities can be conducted using the COSLInnovator facility, within the framework laid down in the regulations. The decision is based on the information provided in the AoC application concerning the facility’s technical condition, the applicant’s organization and management system, as well as the authorities’ verifications and general processing.

The validity of the AoC presumes that COSL Drilling Europe AS ensures that the facility and relevant parts of the company’s organisation and management system continue to meet the regulatory requirements, and that terms and conditions in the PSA’s decision are met.
