PSA Conducts Audit of Snorre B Facility

From 28 to 30 November 2011, the Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) conducted an audit of the Snorre B facility.

 Objective

The objective of the audit was to evaluate Statoil’s basis for, management and follow-up of radio and communications systems.

Furthermore, the audit aimed to verify conditions associated with technical aspects and maintenance of radio and communications systems at the facility, evaluated against relevant regulatory requirements within the Petroleum Safety Authority’s discipline areas.

 Result

Nonconformities were identified in connection with:

communication officer

maintenance and testing of SART

man-overboard boat (MOB boat)

VHF for use in lifeboats

approval for VHF radio equipment

Furthermore, potential improvement items were identified in connection with:

radio equipment for use in rafts

power supply/batteries
