PSA Norway Inspects Emergency Preparedness of Troll B Platform

The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of emergency preparedness on Statoil’s Troll B platform on 26 March 2012.

The objective of the activity was to gain an overview of processes and systems that contribute towards ensuring comprehensive leadership and management of emergency preparedness on Troll B.

The PSA identified nonconformities in relation to: follow-up of internal exemption; training and exercise for MOB boat crew;

Furthermore, improvement items were identified in relation to: Co-training in using the MOB boat: Co-training between helicopter deck teams and search and rescue teams.

Troll B, a floating process and accommodation platform with concrete hull produces from thin oil-bearing layers in the Troll West reservoir.

The Troll field lies in the northern part of the North Sea, around 65 kilometres west of Kollsnes, near Bergen.
