TenneT Encounters Development Difficulties with Offshore Wind Grid in Germany

WATERINGEN-STATION-TENNET

German based electricity grid operator TenneT warns government that they can’t keep up with the pace of offshore wind grid development.

They said that construction of further cables at this rate is not doable due to lack of cash and skilled staff at TenneT and at their supplier.

TenneT has nine grid connection projects under construction in North Sea.

TenneT wrote to the German Federal Chancellery, the Federal Ministry of Economics and the Federal Environment Ministry, to open discussion about improvement of general conditions.
