Apply Nemo Signs Contract to Deliver Automated Multi Pig Launcher for Statoil

Apply Nemo has signed a contract with Statoil for delivery of an Automated Multi Pig Launcher to the Fram field. The contract value is approximately 35 MNOK and the equipment is scheduled to be delivered in Summer 2013.

The Apply Nemo Automated Pig Launcher will allow for automated launching of pigs avoiding costly production shut down due to regular launching of maintenance pigging. The remotely controlled unit, operated from the platform, will contain up to four cleaning pigs (alternatively one state of the art intelligent pig) being stored in an exchangeable pigging cassette and launched individually.

In the design of a pipeline system, the possibility to remotely launch pigs, can offer significant advantages. Dual pipelines with pigging loops may be avoided and a pipeline may be designed with less concern for wax formation.

Håkon Strømberg, the MD of Apply Nemo states: “This contract is a result of long time focus on product development in Apply Nemo. We have great belief in this as a product and foresee a promising market potential.”

Apply Nemo AS has its main office at Lysaker outside Oslo, its fabrication facility at Hokksund ( Apply NemoTech) and a subsidiary, Apply Nemo Pty. Ltd, in Perth, Australia.

Apply Nemo is part of the Apply Group which has 2000 employees and a turnover of approx.. 3 billion NOK.
