Narec Searches for Investors to Develop Blyth Offshore Wind Demonstrator Project in UK
Narec expects to run a concession tender process to choose project partners to deliver the maximum benefit to industry commensurate with appropriate public procurement rules.

They are now engaging with the market regarding the concession opportunity and their initial proposal on structure is to offer:

– A concession opportunity for up to three exclusive “owners” of 5 “pods” each (to include inter alia WTG’s, foundations, inter-array cabling), currently expected as whole arrays, for build, own, operate and transfer back to Narec at a date to be determined – expected c. 10 years.

– Collectively to form a joint venture (either Narec in-conjunction with the three array owners, or alternatively Narec with a separate infrastructure investment consortium) which would complete the overall project development and develop, finance, own and operate the common infrastructure assets including inter alia onshore sub-station, offshore monitoring platform, onshore cabling, export cabling and such other assets as may be decided by the Parties.
