Projects to Supply Offshore Structural Beams for Shell

On 2nd October, Projects reached another milestone and signed a five year global Enterprise Framework Agreement (EFA) with Shell, with an option to extend the agreement for an additional five years. This excellent result came from a thorough and stringent selection and tendering process which started in March.

The scope consists of the exclusive supply and full product coverage of offshore structural beams and/or sections to all international Shell projects and their awarded EPC contractors.

This framework agreement was developed by Shell with the strategic aim to maximize value in their effort and to purchase all structural steel directly from a limited number of suppliers. Through this program, it eliminates supply chain inefficiencies and builds up greater and transparent collaboration between awarded parties. It also ensures reliable supply, exclusive services and quality, in pair with competitive pricing and meeting the DEP Steel Specification.

This contract is a significant addition to our success and an acknowledgement to the added values we bring through our business model. By differentiating ourselves as a specialized and dedicated partner with flexible and creative steel solutions, we are able to meet the high expectations of the Oil and Gas industry – making us a true ally and partner of choice,” said Andre Roosendaal, Managing Director of Projects SE Asia & Pacific.

It is estimated that Projects will be supplying a yearly volume of approximately 15,000 – 20,000 metric tons of beams and sections with this agreement in place. The Projects Singapore team will be taking the lead in the commercial follow up and project execution while working in close cooperation with ArcelorMittal Long Carbon Europe. Customized project management, QA/QC and logistics services will also be provided through each stage of the projects.

I am proud of what we have achieved as an international Projects team – with the good support given by all members. Now, we need to prove that Shell has made the right choice with us and build up an excellent performance record in addition to further enhance our partnership,” added Andre Roosendaal.
