TAG Energy Signs Contract to Deliver Foundation Piles for Saipem

TAG Energy Solutions has been awarded a significant new contract to deliver four foundation piles for international marine construction company Saipem.

The piles will be utilised to support a jacket construction in the North Sea operated by Total in the Elgin B oil & gas field.

The contract was secured by TAG Energy Solutions through a competitive tender process, which included several international competitors.

Measuring 2.5m in diameter and between 90 and 101 metres in length, the piles are scheduled to be manufactured at TAG ES’ new production facility in North East England in the first and second quarters of 2012.

TAG Energy Solutions’ £20million, 6,920m2 production facility has the capability to deliver up to 100,000 te of steel monopiles per annum. Utilising an innovative manufacturing process, the facility’s full-automated system rolls and welds large diameter tubulars used in the production of offshore structures.

The company’s riverside facility has also been developed to manufacture jackets, transition pieces and topside structures, which can be transported around the world from its extensive wet dock and 6,000te load out quay.
